Mariah Carey dumps Jermaine Dupri

According to Billboard, Mariah Carey has given her long time producer/manager Jermaine Dupri the old heave-ho. The parting of the duo stems from dismal record sales of Mariah’s latest album Me. I am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse which has only sold 103,000 copies since its May release.

Dupri stated that “I’m a very hands-on person when it comes to my work,”.“I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.”

The So So Def record mogul served as executive producer for Mariah’s latest effort and also served as a producer for 2 of her biggest hits “We belong together” and “Always be my baby”.

Kevin Liles is now reportedly working with Mariah.
